I enjoyed todays lesson. Mel's starter was interesting. I think this is a good activity to test students learning and knowledge from previous sessions and lessons.
I also think that i understand and feel confident about the assignment now, as Shirley went over each point and made things clear. We also went over the observation booklets which made us aware of which parts to complete.
I liked the video- Brown eyes and blue eyes. I think it was an eye-opener to see how the teacher does the experiment with young students and how it has an impact on the students behaviour and feelings in a small amount of time. I think it was a good way of getting students to understand that everyone is equal regardless of race, colour, etc.
At the end, it was good to take down notes from one another's powerpoint to help us with our assignment related to scheme of work. To end the lesson, Mel's video- 'I Will Not Let An Exam Result Decide My Fate' was also another interesting clip to watch and have a debate on. :)
Thanks for this post Abida. It's good to know everyone's thoughts, feeling and ideas about the sessions. I agree that the video topic is a good debating issue - especially when compared to current government advisers.
