Session 5

25.10.15

In todays lesson, we looked at how Digital literacy is useful for both students and teachers, as well as the disadvantages. We also learnt about how Flipping the classroom is important and how to differentiate and meet the needs of each learner differently.
As a result, i feel that digital technology and flipped learning has its pros and cons for both teachers and learners. It was an eye-opener to see how digital technology is increasing.
On the other hand, it is predicted that student learning will be mostly based online for indepedant learning. However, will teachers and students develop that bond or be able to have an interaction like they are supposed to? what if students don't have access to technology from home? how will students learning needs be catered for?
Overall, i think it was an interesting lesson. Digital technology is something i would definitely use when i teach, it is popular, accessible and engaging. I would probably prefer to give my students some online based activities to do, as well as teaching and interacting with them in the classroom, so it is balanced. :o)

  1. Thanks for your blog, Abida. You have included some considerations of how to balance the use of digital technology with, rather than instead of, teaching in the classroom. Please keep on adding your thoughts. Shirley
